Below are some simple reflections for your journal and exercises for your lower 4 energy centres. Also known as CHAKRAS.
In order to facilitate a shift in change; we must first bring awareness, and then follow with commitment.
Your ROOT chakra energy centre is the governor of safety. Feeling safe in your body, relationships, and all aspects of life.
Grab a journal and ask yourself these 3 questions, and be honest with your answers:
-What makes me feel safe?
-What makes me feel unsafe?
-What can I do today to create 1% more safety?
Now find somewhere comfortable to sit or lay down. Place your hands on your thighs and take a deep inhale for the count of 4, and then exhale for a count of 6. Repeat this sequence for about 3-5 minutes.
Next I invite you to close your eyes for a body scan. Bring your awareness to your feet, next your calves and legs. Notice if you are holding any tension. Breathe into those areas. Move your awareness up to your midsection, your chest, and your shoulders. If your shoulders are tensed up, gently release them down. Keep breathing and allow each exhale to become longer than the last. Move your awareness up to your face, notice your jaw; is it clenching? Allow it to soften. Maybe lean your head to the right, and then to the left. Shoulder rolls can help release any tension.
Now bring your awareness back to your breath. Are you feeling anything different than from when we started?
When you are ready, wiggle your toes, wiggle your fingers, and slowly open your eyes.
